If so, we promise that we arent just trying to fill your mouth with extra stuff just for fun! There are very specific reasons why your overall treatment may include a removable appliance. Let us explain…

Generally, your conventional braces are designed to straighten your teeth and removable appliances are designed to help retain teeth in their corrected positions. Sometimes removable appliances have other objectives too, which include altering the growth movements of your jaw to correct a facial structure issue. Thats why they can be used before, during, or after your experience with braces.

Now, dont feel neglected if we dont recommend a removable appliance as part of your treatment. Their use isnt appropriate for every orthodontic case. Trust that Dr. Lee andDr. Meyrowitz have the experience and skill to recognize which of our valued patients needs this additional treatment component.

For those of you who do need a removable appliance, be sure to wear it as directed by our team! As you can imagine, because removable appliances can be removed it takes a little more self discipline on your part to wear them as instructed. Otherwise, their effectiveness can be compromised.
